WIRE BRUSH - CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE RANGE

A wire brush is a tool that has stiff bristles made from a variety of rigid materials designed to clean and prepare

metal surfaces. The filaments of wire brushes are small diameter pieces of inflexible material that are closely spaced
together as a means for cleaning surfaces that require aggressive and abrasive tools. The means of applying the
brush can be either manual or mechanical depending on the type of brush and the surface to be treated.

Though part of a wire brush ‘s function is to clean surfaces, they have other purposes such as preparing materials

for painting or removing slag and spatter after welding. Wire brushes have become an essential part of considerate
production operations as a method for preparing products for processing, finishing, and treatment.

       WIRE FILAMENT

The main part of a wire brush is its filaments or bristles. The types of wire filaments, their diameters, density, and length

determine what applications a brush can be used for. There are multiple types of wire filaments available for the
manufacture of wire brushes. Filaments are chosen according to the types of results they are designed to achieve on the
       surface being treated.

Steel Wire - Carbon steel wire is the most durable wire brush fill material for metalworking and heavy-duty
cleaning applications. They are also very cost-effective and deliver reliable results in less demanding applications.

Stainless Steel Wire - Stainless steel wire is only recommended when brushing corrosion-resistant or non-ferrous
metals such as stainless or aluminum. They are more durable and aggressive than steel wires.

Non-Ferrous Wire - Brass, bronze and aluminum wire brushes will not generate a spark in use. They lack the
durability of carbon steel and stainless-steel wire. Due to their soft brushing action, these materials may also be
used in special applications such as decorative finishing.

Plastic Filament – These synthetic filaments are resistant to Abrasion and coolants and therefore can be used for
cleaning in both Wet and Dry application.

       CRIMPED WIRE BRUSH WHEEL

The Crimped Wire Brush is extremely resistant to acids, is contentious and secure to use. They are suitable for
sideways jobs, work on edges, profiles and cracks.
The Crimped wire wheel brushes are made in 3 designs:
       – With Arbor holes to be used on Bench grinders -With Nuts to be used with Angle grinders
-- With Shank to be sued on drills and die grinders
